Cloudy with a chance of Opera House

We’re in Sydney! Home of the Harbor Bridge and of course, the Sydney Opera House! Like any big city, Sydney has a whole lot going on all the time… until 6 p.m. that is… that’s when it seems all shops close. You’d think it was a Sunday or something!

Day 1 in Sydney was a lot of exploring in the rain… We walked across the Harbor Bridge, explored The Rocks (an area in town with lots of restaurants, shops and museums), went to the Opera House, through the Royal Botanical Gardens (another romantic walk in the rain…). We thought we’d be cool (ok Piyusha thought we’d be cool) if we saw a show off the beaten path. So we went searching for the Sydney Theater Company…. So we went back through garden, back through The Rocks, back by the bridge only to learn that the theater is in off-season right now and the show will be starting on Friday. Ugh…

So cold and wet, we come upon a place that had the magical words – Happy…. Hour…. After resting our poor feet (we literally walked 10 miles today), we wandered down to Darling Harbor for a bite to eat and discovered a dinner happy hour! Yummy yummy Mexican and tapas.

We’ll let the pictures do the talking for this day.

Oh the trip count:

Injuries – Parimal: 0, Piyusha: 1 (it was dark out, she was taking a picture and walked into a bench = two bruised knees)

Items lost: Parimal: 0, Piyusha: 0
